What Do You Really Know?
Parents, do your really know what's happening within school hours? If your answer is no, then the information below will inform you on the upcoming events this month.
Soon JMMS 2018-2019 8th graders will be graduating from JMMS and entering high school. Recently, a few staff members and current students of Cibola High School came to JMMS for a brief presentation. In this presentation they talked about the classes in high school and to prepare the students for high school. The students received a blue 9th Grade Course Request Card and a student course catalog. The paper is due February 12th, please make sure the paper is filled out and print legibly. There also was a 8th grade family and athletic night at Cibola High School on February 6th, at 6:00pm to 8:00pm. At this event your child had the chance to meet 9th grade Cibola High School teachers, counselors, and administrators. If your child plays sports he/she could have met the coaches. 8th grade student Lanie Anderson says, "I am excited for high school, I will make new friends and new memories. It will be an adventure."
JMMS would love to have parent volunteers to help with support services, tutors/mentors, or instructional support! IF you have a APS background check and you would like to volunteer at school, then contact the school and see what is happening. There also are parent meetings. JMMS staff and parents meet at JMMS in the library to discuss what's going on in school and listen to your feedback. On February 10th from 11:00am to 5:00pm there will be the Washington D.C. 8th grade field trip mattress fundraiser. The event is opened to anyone who would like to purchase a mattress. The money will go back to the students who will go on the 8th grade Washington D.C trip. 8th grader Emma Stagen who will be going on the trip said "I look forward to learning about our history and I've never been to those states and it would be so cool."
It would be greatly appreciated if you, as parents, would support the school. If you have any questions or comments about what's happening, or coming up in the school. You can go to the JMMS website or contact the school at (505)-897-0101.
