Chess Club

James Monroe Middle School has a chess club that meets in room C-107 with Mr. Wilcox at 3:15-4:15 on Wednesdays. The chess club is playing a tournament that the students in the club organized. Mr. Wilcox gives lessons on how to be a better player and how to win playing chess.
The tournament already started in the beginning of the month of March. The student who wins the tournament gets bragging rights. Mr. Wilcox also told the students who wins gets a snickers bar. In the chess club there are about 12 students in the club.
Kaylee Seligman a seventh grader at JMMS says that “ It’s fun to play with people and enjoy playing chess like I do”. In chess the students say that we play each other in a game. Then Mr. Wilcox goes around the circle a plays chess with us.
To sign up for Chess club next year you have to turn in a slip that says you want to be in a club.
