In the month of February some of JMMS staff members visited the elementary schools explain the dress code and some of the electives we have at JMMS.They were, also at the elementary schools to hand out the registration cards. On March 19,2019 at 9:15am-12:30 pm the elementary school students were bused from Seven Bar, Petroglyph and Sierra Vista. The incoming 5th graders came to take a trip from their elementary schools to James Monroe Middle School. Sunset View did not take the bus they walked to JMMS. 5th Graders got to experience eating lunch and got to get a preview of what's it’s like being at JMMS. It was an opportunity to participate has a 6th grader while at James Monroe Middle School. Counselors got to help out students with registration cards and helped them around the school. Student Council showed the 5th graders the different electives they can choose for next year. This visit also gave 5th graders the chance to know their surroundings of JMMS. James Monroe Middles School parent night was 3/21/19 from 6:00-7:30 pm the administration got to speak to the parents about the school and answered questions about JMMS. Parents got to be introduced to teachers and staff member. Parents were asked to email the counselors for any information or questions they have about James Monroe Middle school. Angel Anglada said that this visit has been happening since the school first opened in 2001, so for the last 18 years this tradition has been going on. (I think it's helpful for the students to ease their mind so where there not so worried about what middle school is like said Ms.Anglada.)
