In the last few months of the year, JMMS has many fun events to come. The activities can vary from going to main event and to going to cliffs. If you get a referral, tips, or home or school suspension you will not be allowed to attend these events. Mrs. Sichler has given those students an opportunity to make it up by doing community service.
The sixth graders will be having a field day here on JMMS campus, the seventh grade field trip will be going to the zoo, and the eight grade field trip will be going to cliffs. All of the leadership classes including Student Council, Journalism, National Junior Honor Society, and AVID will be going to main event. JMMS has dances, parties, and more coming up, including the No Raptor Reminder Party, yearbook signing party, the talent show, staff vs. student basketball game, PARCC testing, luau dance, 8th grade dance, and 8th grade promotion. We hope to see you at these events.
I have interviewed Mrs. Garcia and Mys. Comer asking them: "What inspired you to organize these events?" Mrs. Garcia responded saying, "We look for affordable events, we try to find something that 7th graders can afford plus some where that can hold such a large group of kids. We have 337 seventh graders, and reality is not all places in Albuquerque or in the state are willing to have that many kids at one time. The Albuquerque zoo has been a place that opened up their arms for the seventh graders since last year. We tried to find more places but it didn't work where we weren't able to hold everyone at the same time. This year we are scheduled to go to the zoo."
Mrs. Comer responded saying, "I enjoy my roll as 8th grade team leader and being in charge of the 8th grade activities. I like the input of the students and I'm very creative and I want the students to have fun."
