On February 16th the James Monroe Middle School 2019-2020 Archery Team went to the City Shoot, hosted at the Archery Shoppe. This was the first year that the James Monroe archery team has attended the City Shoot. This is also the first year the City Shoot occurred. The City Shoot works like other shootouts with three ends from 10 meters and three ends from 15 meters, but the City Shoot out is a mock shoot out for state. State is a competitive shootout that the James Monroe Archery team attends every year. They have been the five time state champions in a row. James Monroe got to shoot at 1:30.
Two students placed 1st place from James Monroe, Amber Seligman placed 1st place for the female archers division, she scored with a 270. Ty Krafft got 1st place in the male archers division, he scored with a 277.
