Razzle Dazzle is James Monroe Middle School's dance team, also known as the "Raptorettes". Led by their coach Sofia Olague Razzle Dazzle practices to be in-sync and to increase their flexibility. They need to practice hard to succeed. Practice takes place in the cafeteria or sometimes the gym depending on which one is available. They practice every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:15 to 5:45. The team has a uniform that they wear for practice and competitions, it is a blue and black with a dress-like appearance and a white bow that they wear in their hair. The team is a combination of 6th, 7th and 8th graders, so any grade can join.
Lauren Glaser said that she likes Razzle Dazzle because she gets to do tricks but they push you.
Another student who isn't in Razzle Dazzle, Baylee Solesbee said, "I wouldn't want to join Razzle Dazzle because I can't do any of the moves they do."
Razzle Dazzle has performed at school but they have been in competitions and other things that are similar. Two examples of this are a showcase that they went to in late 2015, and the Spirit of Hopes Challenge. In the Spirit of Hopes challenge the "Raptorettes" came in 3rd out of the four middle schools with a total judges scoring of 183.00, and first had a total of 225.50.
It may be late to join Razzle Dazzle this year, but it will be available to join next year, though there is a fee for every month and also to pay for the uniform. That will everyone who wants to be in Razzle Dazzle join next year.
